Why You Should Be Excited For London Fashion Week SS17

One of our favourite times of the year is nearly here…London Fashion Week! When the hipsters, the celebrities, the socialites and the fashionistas cram into the front row to watch whats coming in the next seasons! If you’re not that excited yet…here’s why you should be!

1. VERSUS VERSACE IS BACK IN LONDON

Not seen in London since September 2015, Versace’s little sister brand will return exactly a year after it left for its SS17 show….how will it be received? The label’s former creative director Anthony Vaccarello has since jumped ship to Saint Laurent – his replacement remains to be seen.

2. MM6 MAISON MARGIELA IS ALSO BACK IN LONDON

Spread the love: The MM6 Spring-Summer 2017 Pre-Collection binds and fuses garments, reflecting the shape of hugs and embraces.

Much like Versus Versace, the directional diffusion line will be back in London exactly a year after they left us for New York….awks.

3. ITS THE 3RD SEASON IN ITS NEW LOCATION

So we’re hoping that all the kinks have now diminished and there is less queuing and also praying it’s slightly more glamorous … please! Third time lucky?

4. THERE’S A NEW NEWGEN RECIPIENT

British Fashion Council has brought in an influx of emerging talent, NEWGEN is one of the best things about London Fashion Week. Its newest recipient is German designer Paula Knorr.

5. BURBERRY WILL PRESENT MENSWEAR AND WOMENSWEAR AT THE SAME SHOW

Burberry have been slowly moving towards a ‘buy off the runway’ business model for a few seasons now, and this latest move confirms our suspicions. Combining womenswear and menswear in one show is so simple & obvious, yet brilliant! They’re also showing in the evening instead of their usual early afternoon slot…interesting.
